STOP!
February 27, 2008Say you come across a stop sign in the middle of nowhere, you’re driving fast, singing along to your favorite song, and no one is around…
What do you do?
Stop slowly and sarcastically giggle to yourself,
say, “look… I’m stopping for no reason….”
staring aimlessly both ways to see if anyone is coming,
until you come to a complete hault under that mocking sign
with it’s white letters that read S-T-O-P and it’s communist red;
Or do you put that pedal to the floor and gun it,
glancing back at the sign through your rear view mirror
with a smirk on your face and the thought of Revolution in your mind?
i too went back and forth about whether or not i wanted to go to college right away after i graduated h.s. even though the military wasn’t in the program for me, there were other options. yet, i decided on moving to ventura and i started at v.c. it’s been five years and i am finally earning 1 of two AA’s this semester and the 2nd hopefully by the end of this year. it takes a lot of time and dedication, but you’ll see…it’s totally worth it.
